The Day of Doom

A Day of Doom - January 12, 2010:  At approximately 4:53pm local time, giant tectonic plates along the Enriquillo-Plaintain Garden fault, which had slept for 150 years, suddently shifted. The resulting 7.0 magnitude earthquake caused widespread cataustrophic destruction. A nation, by most standards, already in ruins, was brought to its knees. The capital city of Port-au-Prince, the nation's most populated region, shook violently for forty seemingly endless seconds. It was long enough to leave the Western Hemisphere's poorest nation, in ruins.
